Femme Fatale of the Week

Lizabeth Scott
A husky voiced siren whose onscreen persona was ready made for what her studio billed her as: "The Threat." She would walk away from show-business after 20 films and a hint of scandal, blackmail, and double-crosses. In 1955 her name appeared in a tabloid called Confidential. The article insinuated amongst other things that the unmarried actress preferred the "company of Hollywood's weird society of Baritone Babes" and that she paid female prostitutes for sex. Her name had as alleged appeared in a call-girl's directory. Scott would appear once more as a leading lady opposite Elvis Presley in 1957's Loving You but would then retreat into relative seclusion for the rest of her days.
